I was at the Phillies stadium last night (promoting Vintage Blue of course), before the game started, and the fans were in high spirits.  I had a group of four guys sing me to song, “We are The All American Girls. We come from cities…” from A League of Their Own.  I wish I had my camera for that one.

The Queen of Pop is taking over the world again. Madonna’s world tour is beaking all kinds of box office numbers. The show has four distinct themes, Pimp, Old School, Gypsy and Rave and you know the Material Girl is being decked out in what will surely become one of the most coveted wardrobes to hit the stage in a decade with designs by Givenchy and Stella McCartney.

We’re gonna do it! That was my theme song. I have always been drawn to the Laverne character played by Penny Marshall in the hit TV sitcom Laverne and Shirley. Known for being a tough-talking tomboy, Laverne, considered herself a realist. Laverne’s motto is: “This is it, this is our life.” Known for her infamous favorite drink milk and pepsi (not sure about that one) and her trademark style, the letter “L” monogrammed on her shirts and sweaters along with her poodle skirt. 

It’s no wonder why I had such a strong connection to the film “A League of Their Own” one of the main inspirations of our company, directed by Penny Marshall, when ever I get a chance I’m trying to incorporate the “L” style monogram on all our Vintage Blue designs. So when ever you get some free time this summer kick back with some classic episodes of Laverne and Shirley.

The World Champs are back, let’s just say it wasn’t a great start to the season, but on the bright side this is how they started last year, so the season is looking very promising!

Vintage Blue joined in on the opening day celebration by setting up a stand outside Benny The Bum’s by the stadium. We had a great time chatting it up with all the “A League of Their Own” fans,  “There’s No Crying In Baseball” tee was a big hit that night.
